Su-30 Crashed in the Kaliningrad Region

MOSCOW, 12 August. /TASS/. In the Kaliningrad region, the Su-30 aircraft crashed while performing a training flight. The crew died. This was reported to journalists in the Western Military District (ZVO).

“On August 12, while performing a training flight in the Kaliningrad region, a Su-30 aircraft crashed in a deserted area,” the ZVO said.

They specified that the flight was carried out without ammunition. “The crew of the plane died. According to preliminary information, a technical malfunction became the cause of the crash,” the district said.

Su-30 is a Russian two-seat multirole heavy fighter. In the mid-1990s, an export version of the fighter, the Su-30K (“commercial”), was created on the basis of the Su-30.
